Project overview

The Apartment Brothers website connects apartment communities, real estate agents, and prospective renters through a combination of service education and location-based community discovery. The experience introduces the company’s apartment-marketing services, explains its use of the Multiple Listing Service (MLS), and helps visitors explore participating communities across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.

The project needed to serve distinct but connected audiences: property teams evaluating a marketing partnership, and agents and renters looking for communities. The design balances a clear business value proposition and inquiry paths with geographic browsing, property information, and direct links to community websites.

My role as Lead Product Designer

I led the design and build of the original website, shaping its information architecture, visual direction, and core user journeys. My focus was on translating a relationship-driven business into a digital experience that clearly communicated its value and helped each audience find a relevant next step.

I structured the homepage around the company’s central proposition—connecting apartment communities with agents and their clients—and paired that message with a prominent “Request Info” action. Separate paths for community exploration and leasing inquiries helped distinguish the needs of potential business partners from those searching for an apartment.

For community discovery, I designed state-based navigation using recognizable regional imagery, leading into an interactive map experience. Property markers reveal community photos, names, addresses, and website links, helping visitors move from a broad geographic search to a specific property.

I also organized supporting content to explain the service and establish credibility. The “Why MLS?” page combines educational content with a visual explanation of listing distribution, while the “About Us” page introduces the people behind the business. Consistent navigation, typography, and red-and-navy styling connect these pages into a cohesive experience.

My involvement extended beyond interface design into implementation and ongoing maintenance, supporting the website as the business evolved.

The central design priority was connecting business development with useful property discovery—giving apartment communities a clear reason to engage while providing agents and renters with a practical way to explore the communities represented
